Julie Raeanne Shipman-Hammonds, 22, of Galt, died July 16 at home. She was born Julie Shipman on Feb.2, 1979, in Lodi.Mrs. Shipman-Hammond worked at the Galt Frosty for three years. She was a member of the Big Valley Bible Church. She enjoyed being with her family, singing, camping, swimming, baseball, being with friends and her pet dogs.She is survived by her husband Jeff Hammonds of Galt; mother, Linda Shipman of Galt; twin sister Katie Shipman and sister, Jamie Hamilton both of Galt; Grandparents, Gene and Lorraine Wilburn of Galt; and Grandmother, Florence Shipman of Stockton. She was proceeded in death by her father; James Kenneth Shipman.

Selena J. Gomez, 24, born April 3, 1979, died on Friday, July 4, 2003 after
a lengthy illness. She graduated from Galt High, then moved to Reno with her
fiancee Jason Castillo in 1998. She worked for the Hartford Insurance Company
as a new business representative for two years. She was currently pursuing and
near completion of her degree in Radiology at Truckee Meadows Community College.
Survived by father Fred Gomez of Acampo and mother Migue Gomez of Modesto; brothers
Daniel of Lodi, Andrew of Acampo and Gerald and Michael Gomez of Stockton; sisters
Sonia and Sabrina Gomez, both of Modesto and Tamara Gomez of Gilroy.

Keith Haas III
July 15, 1979 - September 25, 2004
Keith Haas III, passed away early Saturday morning in a traffic accident. He
was 25. Keith was born on July 15, 1979, in Stockton, and has lived here practically
all of his life. He was the owner of Lodi Drywall, along with his partner, Grandfather,
Floyd Haas, Sr. He also worked daily by his fathers side, Floyd Haas, Jr., and
his uncle, Mike Haas. Keith grew up in Acampo and attended Oak View Elementary
School and graduated from Galt High School. He enjoyed off- road racing, Quad racing, camping at Pismo Beach with his friends and his two dogs, "Duke" and "Sativa". Keith was compassionate and devoted to his family and friends. He is survived by his girlfriend, Michelle Glissman, of Lodi; father, Floyd Haas, Jr., of Stockton; step-mother, Rosemarie Haas, of Stockton; mother, Anna Sigala, of Palm Springs; brother, John Haas and his girlfriend, Jessica Rosa, of Tracy; step-brother, Michael Moore, of San Diego; step-sisters, Darla Cooper-Bryan, Stephanie Moore and Lanette Owning, all of Stockton; nieces, Mikenzie Owning, Mattison Rose Owning, Payton Bryan; nephews, Brandon Cooper, Calen Moore and Taylor Bryan; grandparents, Floyd and Joanne Haas of Acampo, Dolores Haas, of Texas, Eddie and Connie Sigala, of Los Angeles. Also surviving aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends.

On Monday, December 15, 2008, at approximately 4:30 a.m., Officer Joseph Paul Sanders, I.D. 18781, of Santa Fe Springs Area, was struck by a car while laying a flare pattern in heavy rain. He was life-flighted to USC Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.Sanders, age 29, was at the scene of a collision on eastbound State Route 60, near Azusa Avenue, in the City of Hacienda Heights, when a vehicle not associated with the original collision struck a third vehicle, which went out of control and struck him. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the collision. There have been no charges filed in the case.Officer Sanders was about to mark his first year on the CHP. After graduation from the Academy on December 21, 2007, he transferred to Santa Fe Springs Area and was planning to transfer to the Modesto Area April 1, 2009. An Iraq veteran, he grew up in Galt, Calif., and served in the Marine Corps from 1997 through July 2006. Sanders leaves behind his wife, Tondria, and four children, ages 7, 3, 10 months, and a 7-year-old stepson. Sanders is the third officer from the Santa Fe Springs Area to die in the line of duty since 2004. He is the 214th line-of-duty death in CHP history. Gov. Schwarzenegger said, "Maria and I were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Officer Joseph Sanders, who dedicated his life to ensuring public safety. California is a better place because of his service and his sacrifice will not be forgotten. On behalf of all Californians, we send our thoughts and prayers to Joseph's family, friends and fellow officers."

On Thursday, June 9, 2011.Christian Michael Pellor, 31 and resident of Galt for 30 years, died in an early morning one-car crash in Elk Grove on June 9, 2011 on his way home from school.
Christian was united in marriage to Hydee Lynn McGregor on Nov. 16, 2007 in Sacramento. He has two daughters, Adan Grace Pellor of Galt and Makayla Lynn Fincher of Lockeford, whom he loved very much.
Christian was a graduate of Galt High School and is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was employed by Best Air Mechanical in Galt and currently employed by Syntrol Heating, Air and Plumbing Co. of Sacramento. He was currently attending ITT Tech School. Christian was an avid fisherman and had many friends. Surviving are his parents Gary and Darlene Pellor of Galt, sisters Mona (Monte) Cook of Peoria, Ariz., and Laura (Matt) Kroner of Sacramento, brothers Randy Murray of Sacramento and Kevin Pellor of Galt.
